DeRez and SFox, where are you getting your information? Speaking of INCOME, not WEALTH, the people with the highest income pay the largest percent in taxes--for instance, if you won the lottery, there's no "ceiling" on your taxes. You'd pay on the last $million, and at a rate much greater than your taxes last year.
Keep in mind that a number of the so called "Rich" are Small Business owners. These are the people that keep money coming and going in local communities.
I saw Gumballs from youtube and its right. even though we want to help we should more do that by pushing the other governments to start looking up to successful ones. we have our own things we need to improve as well. part of the tax rase is every time a president has filled the maximum years they have always made things seem better the last year they were there even though in the long term it makes a big problem for the next president to solve.
Sfox- i understand that we need taxes for those reasons, but if you look a little deeper there are some rules that make some of it a wast. about 25% of fed tax goes to the "black account" aka they wont tell us. 10% happens in state. now is this what you want with the money to go to something we have no clue they are doing. how do we know if its not just another keg for the congress to party with.
as scastle said about the good to be rich. i see that they have a higher % but what if i told u that they actualy pay way less % than the mid and poor class. this is due to the MAX amount. if you make so much money should you be able to just keep the rest excluding tax deductions!!! so once you hit the max your home free. thats no ware near fair. if you talk to some of the best economic people they say that there is a flat number they can tax everyone and this will be more than enough to support the state. but no we need to help the poor by decreesing theirs and reward the rich to keep there economy running and the middle class well ya get what you get.
it seems that the only objective is to make things so screwed up that they are the only ones to solve it. god i love this country, lol
I rebut - Though a number of things can be blamed onour current CIC, do you really belive that he can sholder all the blame or even the majority of it? We do have a Senate and a Congress, who as of late are Dem controlled. How much blame do they carry? I have to call BS on a few of your statements. The so called "Rich" acctually pay the majority of the Tax Base. It may be a smaller % but more $. Why should they pay more? Because they have been more successful? The rest of us get small breacks because we make small money. Most of the items that you mentioned are at a local level anyway. I'm sure that we also disagree on what Gov. should so as well. Fed Gov should protect our boarders, provide interstates and not much else. The Gov is not there to support us. I say personal responsibility is needed. Something our Fore Fathers probably thought was a given in their day. I like our current CIC. I think for the most part he has done OK or at the least ge was better that the alternative. There are two major issues that I disagree on. First is Illegal Imigration. They are big contributors in sucking resources out of communities. I do not have an issue with someone looking for a better life. I do take issue with me having to pay for it. I take issue with the breaking of federal laws meant to protect us. The second is the Gov bailling out the banks and home owners. I have a house. I even paid my bills when I got laid off. I play by the rules and I make fairly good financial choices. Why should I pay to remove the consiquences for someone elses risky moves and bad choices? If you want to have more take home pay and less taxes the answer is really simple:
1. Everyone who can work works even if the y think the job is beneath them .
2. have a tax code that people can understand.
3. Stop rewarding people don't work and can.
4. remove illegal Imigrants from the equation - Go to YouTube and search for "Gumballs"
DeRez - I agree whole heartedly. Though I think this is the first time it seems like change for the sake of change. Not sure what we are changing and what we a re changing it to.
So let me get this straight: I'm assuming all of you are totally happy with all those tax cuts that GW Bush has parceled out to you over the last 8 years, leaving the country in such fine shape. (In case you're not sure, that was sarcasm). I'm okay with paying taxes if it means I get services, like decent schools my kids can go to, roads I can drive on, health care help from the government when I get older, etc. Ultimately, that saves me a lot more money than I'd get from saving a bit on taxes. The question is, how do you distribute the money collected (and who pays the bulk of it). The popular call for tax cuts, as we've seen it in the last administration, has generally meant the big guys pay much less -- sometimes even nothing. The rest of us get small breaks, then find we have to pay more out of pocket for health care, education, and all the other things that taxes are supposed to subsidize. It's a false economy and a case of bad math.
Change has been the "word" used by every politician of the opposite party of the current president. Never has there been a change. from the sounds of it he is not going to change the pattern.
Change as in their keeping your change? As for buffet, he may be great at running Margarittaville but I wouldn't trust him with the economy;) Why is it in business you try to do more with less and with govenment you do less with more? That whole redisribution thing sounds really familiar. At best it is Socialism as worst it is Communism. Just my 2 cents.
i have a question... why is Obama saying Buffet has an interesting point a bad thing? the people who make the most in the market pay the most (I personally think that is the way it should be) i agree, propaganda!
What's the Scoop?

They are already taxing the hell out of us, and that's not going to change anytime soon. Indeed, Propaganda!

How is this "change"? We are already getting the heck taxed out of us. Change -- not necessarily a good thing.
